To the south, the Languedoc region is edged with Spain, Andorra and the Mediterranean. To the north it is bounded by the Cevennes and the Montagne Noire. From the east to the west, this huge region stretches from the Rhône delta to the Pyrenees. In this vast area we have some specially selected Languedoc villas, where the climate is excellent. Nevertheless, there are streams, carving out cave systems, and river canyons like the Ardéche gorge, the Céze, the Aude and the Hérault. The river gorges with their clear water and dramatic cliffs are beautiful locations for bathing, canoeing, riding, walking or fishing. A number of our Languedoc holiday homes are near to Nimes which has some of the best preserved Roman remains in Europe. Montpelliet is also a centre near to some of our Languedoc cottages; it is one of the oldest university towns in France and has a charming medieval quarter.
