French Affair Ltd started operating to France in November 1986 and extended its programme to Spain, Portugal, Corsica and Croatia. Since then we have gradually expanded our selection of properties on a strict basis of quality and value for money. We continue only to select a small proportion of the hundreds of properties viewed by our own staff in these countries. Personal negotiations are conducted directly with the owners and a reliable and longlasting relationship is built up between us and our property owners, and indeed many of our customers.

French Affair, Spanish Affair, Portuguese Affair, Corsican Affair & Croatian Affair are all trading names of our holiday company French Affair Limited. Your contract will therefore be with French Affair Limited and consequently you are fully protected financially, as explained below, for all holidays that we offer.

Rigorous Standards

Prior to every season, a thorough inspection is made of the properties to ensure that every house has maintained the standards we have set, and is ready to be enjoyed by our clients during the following Spring, Summer and Autumn months. At the same time, our descriptions are checked to ensure that the information on our website is correct. Our honest and informative approach means that many of our clients reserve their property in France, Spain, Portugal, Corsica and Croatia year after year with us.

Local Offices and Representation in France, Spain, Portugal and Croatia

Our company has offices in France, Spain and Portugal from which we conduct our property prospecting, contracting and checking. Consequently you can be sure that all our information is continuously updated and verified by us"on the spot". We also have three representatives who reside on the island of Corsica from May to September who will meet you when you arrive on our flights to Figari, Bastia and Calvi. They can give you plenty of advice and help to ensure that you enjoy your holiday on this beautiful island. We have local representation in Croatia who will meet you on arrival at Dubrovnik or Split airport and will ensure your holiday goes smoothly.

24 Hour Emergency Telephone Contact

When you go on holiday you will be issued with a 24-hour emergency telephone number. Even the best prepared plans can go wrong. If you do need our help in an emergency, this number will enable you to speak to someone at our office in London who will assist you in every way possible. In Corsica you are provided with the telephone numbers of our representatives who reside on the island; in Croatia you are given the telephone number of our local agent.

Financial Security

Under EEC regulations all tour operators in the UK are obliged to provide an insurance or bonding arrangement to guarantee the protection of clients' money. In line with this directive, French Affair Ltd is bonded for all holidays offered on our web site and protection is extended to all our products in France, Spain, Portugal and Corsica. You can therefore be sure that your money is in safe hands.

Our ABTOT trust bonding arrangement guarantees that any money paid over to French Affair relating to accommodation, ferries, trains or car hire is protected.

Our ATOL licence is granted by the Civil Aviation Authority and provides financial protection for those clients whose holiday includes a flight arrangement made by us which departs from and returns to the UK. Any money paid over to us relating to such a flight as well as any money paid for accommodation, ferry, train and car hire is guaranteed.

Both the ABTOT trust and the ATOL licence protection extends to all our clients for all the holidays that we offer irrespective of their nationality or country of residence.
