In the Vaucluse region, Avignon is a most fascinating city and must be visited. That is why, we have selected several villas near Avignon. We think that the easiest and comfortable way to reach this is probably to use the TGV. Our Avignon villas are only 6 hours away from London Waterloo station. Alternatively, you can book a ticket with either of the the low cost airlines and catch a flight not much more than an hour away with Easyjet to Marseille or Ryanair to Nîmes.

You can rent a villa near Avignon on a weekly basis in high season or on a daily basis the rest of the year. Our Avignon villas are all around and within easy reach of this fabulous town. We have houses to rent in Vaison la Romaine (45minutes), in Noves (20 minutes) and St Remy de Provence (25minutes). We also have houses to rent near Cavaillon (30 minutes). You can enjoy Avignon all year round. Take the time to stroll in this town that is surnamed the city of the popes. During the period 1305 – 1403, the popes stayed in Avignon and the print of their stay is still strong notably thanks to several monuments such as the Gothic Palais, the St Pierre Church and its many museums.

One of the best times to spend your holiday in an Avignon villa is the Spring or Autumn. You will then enjoy spending a few sunny and relaxing days in discovering the best Avignon has to offer in term of wine and gastronomy. Three famous names of French cuisine have a restaurant in Avignon: the Pourcel broters, Christian Etienne, and Robert Brunel . Also, several wine festivals are worth going to for who would like to know more about the Côtes du Rhône wine. Every year you will find different traditional fairs that celebrate wine. For instance, you have “le ban des vendange” that takes place the first week-end in September; the arrival of the côtes du Rhône primeur is the third Thursday of November; Rhône Exaltation Fair is in November too, or “la fête de la vigne et du vin” in May. All those Fairs are agreat way to taste, celebrate and learn about the wine. It is also a good time to enjoy the gentle climate of provence and to take advantage of the swimming pools that are available in most of our villas near Avignon.

During the summer of course, we cannot talk about Avignon without thinking of its prestigious and most renowned theatre festival. During 3 weeks this festival takes the soul of the town and theatres bloom everywhere and do the number of show that spring up all over the place. The Avignon festival is a cultural experience that will tempt you to come year after year to one of our Avignon villas.
