Maison Siosse is an old farm that has just been completely renovated in the regional style but with all modern comforts; the owner loves woodwork and has added some charming wooden features. The house is situated in the village of Malaussanne in the Bearn. You are only 500m from the little centre with grocery, boulangerie and a restaurant called ‘Chez Yanou’ that is highly recommended for its copious and delicious regional cuisine. The village tennis court is walking distance and a horse riding school is nearby too. Still in Malaussanne, and under a 2km walk away is a river where you can swim.
The countryside around is beautiful and it is worth hiking or using the 3 bicycles that the owner leave at your disposal to go and buy fresh vegetables and farm products direct from the local farms. If you are in keen on good wine, the terroir of Madiran is some 30 minutes drive and Jurançon under 40 minutes, otherwise the little vignoble of Cabidos is 3km away. For more shopping, Arzacq-Arraziquet is only 5km away; this is a town full of charm with a market on Saturdays. Hagetmau, which has a pleasant centre and a 9 hole golf course, is also easy reach. Using the this location as a base you can also visit interesting towns like Pau (40 minutes), Aire sur Adour (30 minutes), the coastal centres of Bayonne and Biarritz (around 1h15); and you can even go to San Sebastian in Spain about 2 hours away.

The property has spacious grounds of grassy areas planted with different trees producing fruits for most seasons (cherry, fig, plum and apple); the owner also grows tomatoes each year for guests to enjoy. A part of the outside has been fenced off at the back of the house, in which is a small lawn with sun loungers, and a 6m x 3m swimming pool with steps and a terrace area with outside table and chairs.

Overlooking the pool area is a covered terrace which has table and chairs plus a summer bed for daytime “snoozing”. From here you enter into the fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, American fridge, cooker, microwave and windows overlooking the pool. From the kitchen, you access the large dining room with beams, a sofa, armchairs and fireplace; adjacent to it is the sitting room with sofa, satellite TV, DVD player and fireplace. Next to this a door leads to the double bedroom (the bed is about 1,10m high) with en-suite shower room and separate wc. On the same floor is a utility room with washing machine and dryer. Wooden steps lead to a spacious double bedroom with extra single bed, a TV, and en suite shower room/wc. The house has wifi broadband internet access, telephone, barbecue, ping-pong table and 3 bicycles.
