The best thing to do as you arrive at the house is to park your car and not use it anymore. You can walk, sail or cycle to everything on this gorgeous Island. The house of Les Voiliers is situated in a pretty alley of the village of La Flotte which is classified as one of the most beautiful in the whole of France. Walking through the flowery and lovely lanes you are under 500 metres from boutiques, restaurants and cafés but also the old harbour of La Flotte. The charming market dating from the medieval period sits in a paved courtyard and takes place every morning. You can walk 500 metres to tennis courts and just 1km to the beach of Arnerault. For water activities, you can go fishing shells at low tide, or go for a day out in Catamaran and sail to the Ile d’Oleréron, Ile d’Aix and the Vendéenne beaches.The best way to get around is to hire bikes in the village, and cycle to all the other delightful villages of the island such as St Martin en Ré (4km), Le Bois Plage (7km), and Loix with its saltmarsh (15km).

Outside July and August the house can be rented at reduced rates with a maximum of 4 sharing, in which case the fourth bedroom remains locked.
