This stone-built house is set in a superb terraced garden of half an acre with splendid mature trees, lawns, shrubs and flowers, leading to the excellent swimming pool (12m x 6m-1-2.90m depth) with paved surround and pool house. Situated in a residential area of well spaced houses, it is some 400m from the lovely, historic centre of St Maximin-La Sainte Baume with restaurants, cafés and boutiques along a pedestrian street and a well-known market every Wednesday. The convent royal next to the basilica of Marie-Madelaine has been converted into a beautiful restaurant. Within easy reach, are the Mediterranean beaches to the south such as Cassis or La Ciotat. The mountains to the north have lovely Provencal villages; to the west Aix-en-Provence is 30 minutes.
DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION
You enter into a hall with a piano. To the right is the TV room with TV and DVD player a Hi-fi unit, comfortable sofa and French windows leading outside. To the left is the separate wc and shower room. Off the entrance hall is the well decorated sitting/dining room with sofa, dining table, fireplace and French windows to the terrace. The large well equipped kitchen with dishwasher leads off the dining room and has a utility room at the rear (with washing machine, dryer, freezer) off which are French windows to a terrace with wrought-iron table and chairs and barbecue. Upstairs is a spacious landing off which are four bedrooms: two double bedrooms (one with washbasin) share the same balcony, a twin bedroom (with washbasin) and another double bedroom with little Moroccan salon and a slightly low headroom. Off the landing is a bathroom and separate wc. The house has telephone and internet access as well as central heating.
In a small outbuilding is a mini-gym with rowing machine, step machine and free weights; in the garden is a ping pong table. The pool house has its own small kitchen with fridge, microwave, and gas rings.
