This splendid and elegant house set in 3500m² of lovely grounds is situated about 1.5km from the centre of Gujan-Mestras which has shops and a good selection of local bistros as well as refined restaurants. You are also only about 2km from the picturesque harbour of Larros where you can eat or buy from excellent local oyster producers. The town of Gujan Mestras is within the famous Bassin d’Arcachon which is one of the natural treasures of the French coast. This is a spectacular sea area with wonderful sites such as the birds’ islands; the colossal Pyla dune; the natural reserve of “le banc d’Arguin” (a sandbank in the middle of the sea); the Eyre river delta where we recommend you to take a day to go canoeing, and Lake Cazaux which is ideal for children. All are easy reach (Pyla 15km; River Eyre 10km; Lake Cazaux 17km); moreover, the town of Arcachon which has lovely boutiques, a daily indoor market, and outdoor market 3 times a week, restaurants, beaches and a casino is just 7km away. In the evening the trendy place to be is at the village area of le Mouleau.

From Arcachon you can also take a ferry boat to get to the town of Cap Ferret which is surrounded by a pine forest, the dunes and several kilometres of beaches. Cap Ferret draws a border between the calm Bassin d’Arcachon and the wilder Atlantic Ocean where you can go surfing. Also within easy reach are numerous activities such as golf (nearest about 15 minutes), the ornithological park, Aqualand park for the children, tennis courts, and a thalassotherapy centre. The area is well known for its well laid out cycling routes, and the owners will kindly leave two bicycles at your disposal; extra bicycles can be rented in Arcachon.

DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION

An electric gate opens onto the property with its grounds planted with magnolia, pine trees, palm trees and bushes. Every room has been carefully decorated and fitted for comfort. The main door opens into a spacious entrance hall with a little table and armchair. To the left are two large sitting rooms with sofas and armchairs. Both rooms have French windows onto the terrace, and in one room is a fireplace and a large plasma satellite TV with home cinema system plus hi-fi unit. The entrance hall also leads to the fully equipped kitchen/dining room with large teak table to seat 14 and two French windows to the rear terrace. Adjacent is the utility room with dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. To the right of the entrance hall a corridor leads to a twin bedroom with direct access onto the front terrace, and a double bedroom with French window to the rear. There is also a separate WC and a bathroom. From the entrance hall, a beautiful staircase leads to the upper floor with one twin bedrooms, two double bedrooms, and the very attractive master double bedroom with en-suite bathroom/wc and shower and a spacious dressing room area.This floor has also a bathroom (with bath and shower), plus a separate WC.
Outside the terrace is equipped with outdoor table and chairs, a gas plancha for outdoor grilling, and a 11.5m x 6m swimming pool. The house has a telephone, Wi-fi internet access and two bicycles.
