The house is situated 200 metres from the picturesque village of Bourdeilles. From the garden you have beautiful views over the village and its two castles – one medieval, and one renaissance. The River Dronne is about 800 metres from the house where you can fish and rent canoes and a tennis court is about the same distance. Even though Bourdeilles is a little village, you will find a boulangerie, grocery for basics and several good restaurants. We recommend the restaurants called ‘le Donjon’ and ‘le Griffon’ that are only 200 metres walk. On Wednesdays, in summer, a small market takes place in the evening with local farm products for sale. Indeed Bourdeilles is part of the Perigord vert that is well known for fine gourmet dining and in the area you will find a high quality markets selling ducks, chicken, veal as well as locally grown vegetables and fruit directly from the producer. The riverside town of Brantome, considered to be the most beautiful of all the towns of the Dordogne, is just 10km away - it is also called the Venice of Perigord. There are other attractive villages in the district within 30 minutes drive, such as St Jean de Cole, Notron, Riberac and St Astier. Perigueux is 25km away.

DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION

From the garden, three steps leads to the front door from which you enter into the living room. This has dining area with table and chairs, sitting area with a sofa, armchair, a little TV screen that works for the DVD player only, and French windows that open onto the covered terrace with teak table and chairs. Open plan to the living area is the well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. On this floor near the entrance door is also a separate wc. Stairs rise to 2 floors. On the first floor is a double bedroom with en-suite shower room/wc, another double bedroom, a third bedroom with bunk beds, and a bathroom/wc. The top floor has a landing with games, hi-fi unit and a lovely twin bedroom; the doorway to this bedroom is only 1.30m and therefore quite low. The house has central heating.

Outside is about 1 acre of lawn planted with fruit trees, and a 10m x 5m swimming pool.
